CDKN and ICLEI present new working paper

The Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) and ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability have launched their Working Paper

"Close to home: Subnational strategies for climate compatible development"

by Barbara Anton, Ali Cambray, Mairi Dupar and Astrid Westerlind-Wigstroem with Elizabeth Gogoi.


The paper outlines successful strategies for climate resilience and low carbon development that communities and leaders have pursued at the subnational level. The contents will be discussed at a special session at Resilient Cities 2014 on Thursday, 29 May, 2014.

Open European Day at Resilient Cities 2014

As last year, the Open European Day will be hosted as a side-event at Resilient Cities 2014. This special Day, focusing on adaptation and resilience of European cities, will take place on the 28th of May 2014, prior to the Resilient Cities Congress.

Topics for the Mayors Adaptation Forum

The Mayors Adaptation Forum (MAF) is a special highlight of the Resilient Cities Congress and will be held for a 4th time at Resilient Cities 2014. The Forum is the leadership segment of the event that connects political leaders of local governments with technical experts and global partners.

Looking ahead to the post-2015 UN Development Agenda, the topics for this special forum will include:

  • Climate and governance
  • Biodiversity
  • Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Global Agenda

The MAF is convened by the World Mayors Council on Climate Change, the City of Bonn and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability.
