Congress partner Siemens introduces a study on resilient urban infrastructure

29 April 2013

The study, prepared in collaboration with ARUP and Regional Plan Association, focuses on city resilience to natural disasters and concludes that it must be integrated in all aspects of urban planning.

'Resilient infrastructure is not an option but a must. What you get is a city that is better protected and at the same time more efficient and reliable!' - said Roland Busch, CEO of Siemens’ Infrastructure & Cities Sector, when presenting the initial results of the study. On the second day of the congress Siemens will be presenting the case of the New York City. The example of the City's electrical grid will be used to demonstrate how cities can operationalize resilience in the planning and management of urban infrastructure.
