Registration open: Resilient Cities Asia-Pacific 2017, 7-8 December, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Registrations are now open for Resilient Cities Asia-Pacific  (RCAP) 2017 (07-08 December 2017), the 3rd Asia Pacific Forum on Urban Resilience and Adaptation in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. RCAP will be held back-to-back with Asia LEDS Forum 2017 - "Catalyzing Support for NDC Implementation in Asia" (5-6 December 2017).

Resilient Cities Asia-Pacific series provides a regional platform for urban resilience and climate change adaptation where dialogues are conducted to forge partnerships, with the ultimate goal of identifying implementable solutions and creating lasting impacts for cities in the region.

Resilient Cities 2018, the 9th Global Forum on Urban Resilience and Adaptation, is taking place on 26 - 28 April 2018 in Bonn, Germany (back-to-back with the annual UNFCCC Bonn talks). The annual forum is organized by ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability and co-hosted with the City of Bonn, Germany.

The call for contributions for the 2018 congress is now open and welcomes proposals for various formats, including presentations, panels, workshops, and debates. An overview of the formats is available here

Resilient Cities 2018 will focus on: 

  • Stocktaking: Reviewing the state of urban resilience and local implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (cross-cutting theme); 
  • Social cohesion: Building resilient urban societies (theme 3); 
  • Resilient and resource efficient cities: transition toward a circular economy (theme 4); and
  • Reinventing business as usual: Private sector engagement in resilience building (theme 6).  

Congress themes also include current and pressing issues such as ecosystem-based adaptation, managing climate-related health risks, data and ICT resilience, and evidence-based adaptation planning. Check the detailed list of new themes here.
