Call for Contributions extended to December 10th!

The call for contributions is open for the Resilient Cities 2015 Congress, which will be held 8-10 June 2015 in Bonn, Germany. Proposals are currently being accepted for presentations, panels, workshops, posters, Reality Check Workshops, co-events and trainings. 

Shape this global event by submitting your proposal through our online system until the new extended deadline of 10 December 2014.

Our second webinar on Integrated Climate Action was concluded yesterday, 19 November 2014. The topic of linking climate change mitigation and adaptation was presented by three city representatives and spurred an interesting Q&A session. A brief presentation on how carbonn Climate Registry can contribute to an integrated climate action approach launched the webinar yesterday, followed by an introduction of Bogota’s Humana Development Plan and an overview of Surrey’s Community Climate Action Strategy.

Our first webinar of the year concluded successfully on November 6th. The webinar focused on how the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT's) in adaptation planning can enhance the adaptive capacity of local communities to climate change, as well as facilitate their engagement in local resilience-building actions. The speakers highlighted the importance of ICT solutions for resilience and shared practical examples of their implementation in Bologna, Italy and Uganda. A fruitful Q&A followed at the end of the presentations.

Open European Day 2014 conference report is published

3 November 2014

On 28 May 2014, around 110 representatives from mainly local authorities but also research institutions and other stakeholders gathered for the second edition of the Open European Day as a part of the global Resilient Cities conference in Bonn, Germany. This conference report summarizes the lively discussions during that day and sheds light on several emerging themes, strategic questions and practical solutions. The last section of the conference report presents some conclusions and recommendations for the achievement of more resilient European cities in the future. Download the full report here
